Reviews

This property is incredible by A. Rae - USA [ - AirBnB]

This property is incredible, everything on the grounds is a dream. The kitchen is definitely dated, grandma chic. We had some issues with a broken water fixture and lost hot water the last night because of the issue. They were relatively responsive given it was a Sunday emergency.

We had a great stay by C. Hansen - Germany [ - AirBnB]

We had a great stay at Castro, the villa was even better than the impressions that we had from the pictures. Communication and check-in was easy, definitely planning to come back!

Beautiful home! by Anonymous traveler - Canada [ - IsulaTravel]

It was our first time visiting southern Italy. The Villa was positioned perfectly to experience all the region has to offer. Beautiful home!!

The view from this home is exceptional! by Rick - Australia [ - AirBnB]

The view from this home is exceptional! If you're looking for an escape and a brilliant place to relax and take in the views, this is a great place for you. It is extremely remote; located in between Castro and Santa Cesarea Terme- about a 10 min drive to each town. A few things to consider: - A car is a necessity. You cannot access this home or the towns without it. The listing says a '50mt walk' however it's an extremely steep hill on the way up, so carrying groceries or anything back up is out of the question. It would be a waste not to have a car in such a beautiful part of Salento. Also, you're required to cart your rubbish and recycling down the hill each day, which is easier with a car. - The home is older and more 'rustic' than it appears online. The bathrooms and kitchen are old and are in need of a deep clean. - The kitchen is smaller than it appears online and is really only functional for 1-2 people to cook. - Be sure to be prepared to visit a supermarket as a first stop. The water is not drinkable but they did not leave any. There was no hand soap and limited toilet paper. - The garden is so gorgeous- be sure to enjoy it! Within 20 minutes drive there are great, rocky swimming holes and beautiful coastline. There are a few beach clubs nearby if you're looking for a spot with a pool and sea access as there is no sea access from this home (it's up on the hill). Highly recommend Cala dell'Acquaviva, Spiaggia di Bocca d’Inferno for quick swims or leisurely sun baking on the rocks. Michela, the host was very helpful in helping us book wine tours (Menhir Salento- highly recommend going for a tour and lunch/dinner- the food was exceptional), private chefs, and transfers. She even took us to the Supermarket the first day since we didn't realise we needed a car and arrived with nothing to eat or drink in the seclusion of this house!
